"4 months ago, by God's grace...I had an unmedicated VBA2C! I had an awesome support system which included my husband, U of L midwives, and my sister in law/Doula Helen Christimarie. Although some people still go on to have successful Vbacs without a doula, I still highly recommend having one if you're able to. Doula Helen was God sent. Her motto is: "I am here to mother the mother" which means that she will be like a mother to laboring mothers. She breathed with me through every contraction. She used different natural pain management techniques to help minimize the pain. She made sure that I stayed hydrated so that I didn't end up needing IV Fluids. She made me and my husband feel safe at all times. Both my husband and Helen advocated for me when I was in too much pain to even think or speak. Helen is a loving, caring, and knowledgeable Doula that serves mothers who go on to have both vaginal births & c-sections. She is generous, affordable, and fair."
